NFPW Publications
NFPW distributes two separate publications, the quarterly Agenda magazine, and the monthly e-letter. Agenda magazine is distributed to members and contains articles and news about our members and the work they are doing. The monthly e-letter is distributed to all interested and contains information about affiliate happenings, first amendment issues, and upcoming events.
How do I submit my work to nfpw for publication?
Cathy Koon Publications Director
Cathy Koon has been a member of NFPW since 1980 and has proudly served as a board member in both the Idaho affiliate in her home state and at the national level. A true creative, she has designed conference bags and encourages people to explore their own natural talents. When she isn’t working on the Agenda, she is trying to keep up with her four grandsons and enjoying the natural beauty Idaho has to offer. Cathy retired in 2014 after a career in community journalism, public information and economic development.
JANE FALANY Publications Assistant
Jane Newton Falany of Alabama has agreed to serve as assistant to Cathy Koon, NFPW publications director, succeeding Gwen Woolf, who recently resigned after working with Koon for a number of years.
Jane is an award-winning writer and editor who has more than 30 years of experience, including 12 years as a freelancer. She has worked in corporate public relations, written news releases and news and feature articles, edited publications, and taught journalism and public relations courses at the college level.
Jane is the author of the book "Leeds: Images of America." She has served as historian and treasurer of NFPW, as co-chair for NFPW's conference in 2017 in Birmingham and was twice named Alabama Media Professionals' Communicator of Achievement.
“I am looking forward to working with Jane,” Cathy said. “She has already demonstrated her passion for NFPW and the communications field.”
“Gwen Woolf was an invaluable asset to me for the years we worked together, and I will miss her input,” Cathy said.
